Boogieman is a collection of 14 original songs that combine garage rock, weirdo disco funk, front porch country and avant pop into a post-modern rock and roll noir. The songs are lean and delivered in tight servings. The range and nuance of Frazier’s voice and guitars, bouncing rhythms of Winningham and Olvera, and stylistic shape-shifting of Weitzman’s bow and voice, illuminate the characters of the different tracks with help from the occasional trumpet, piano, accordian and percussion acoutrements.
